The Constitutional Rights of General Boykin
Lt. General William G. Boykin is a decorated combat veteran, who has spent nearly 30 years of his life defending the Constitution of the United States of America. He has served in Special Forces, Delta Force, the Central Intelligence Agency, and as a Justice Department advisor. As Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence, he has been tasked with bringing in bad guys like Osama bin Laden, Mullah Omar, Somali warlords Mohammed Farah Adid and Osman Atto, drug lord Pablo Escobar, Saddam Hussein and others. You would think General Boykin would be complimented with the same constituional rights afforded to any other American - it is not to be.
General Boykin is condemned by Leftists Howard Dean, Joe Lieberman and others - while they pander to the "Arab Street" - for publicly stating he feels the war on terror is a conflict between Evil and Judeo-Christian values. When a Somali warlord laughed on camera and said he would not be defeated because Allah willed it, General Boykin said, "I knew my God was bigger than his. I knew that my God was a real God, and his was an idol."
General Boykin has made speaches, sometimes in Uniform, calling the US Armed Forces the Army of God. He's also said he feels God put George Bush in the White House. He has equated terrorists to the "hooded Christians" of the KKK. To General Boykin our war against Muslim extremism is a classic example of Good Vs. Evil.
Those who condemn General Boykin are not doing so by asking the General to clarify his position or by stating General Boykin is just a soldier who does not create U.S. foriegn policy. First, they accuse General Boykin of hatred, ignorance, bigotry - not understanding, I suppose that General Boykin probably knows more about our enemies than they do. Next they call for the President to condemn General Boykin and call for the good general to be removed from his post. But you see, his comments alone are not what have the Leftists in an uproar - the problem for the Left is General Boykin made his comments in church!
Imagine! A decorated veteran would actually exercise his freedom of expression and his freedom of religion, along with his right to peaceful assembly! This just can't stand! He should be out in the street, stopping traffic and destroying public and private property! He should be waving banners while walking arm-in-arm with his downtrodden brothers and sisters in tiedie! Only then is his cause the cause of Good - right? When you are bucking the system, raging against the machine, telling all those establishment sellouts what the REAL world is like - right? Right?
We are people of a Judeo-Christian nation. The Declaration of Independence underscore how we are "endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights". The day after the Constitution was passed, the Continental Congress voted on a day of prayer and thanksgiving. The Supreme Court will uphold the right of children in America to recite a Pledge of Allegiance to "one nation under God". It is because we are a Christian nation that we have the freedom to choose how we pursue life, liberty and happiness. It is because of Judeo-Christian values that we have a legal system, which provides equal protection to all citizens.
I prefer General Boykin's way. To General Boykin, I present arms! God Bless General Boykin, God Bless the President and these United States. God Bless you All!
